Ryan T. Walker joined Marks & Harrison in 2014 after having most recently worked for GEICO on the defense side of personal injury cases.
Since he was admitted to the Virginia State Bar, Ryan has practiced exclusively in the area of civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury law. He has vast experience in automobile accident litigation.

Ryan grew up in Chesterfield and attended Virginia Military Institute, majoring in International Studies with a minor in Writing. He graduated from VMI, with honors.
He went on to earn his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys waterskiing, hiking, attending college football games, reading, and spending time with his wife and two sons.

- Referred case from Pennsylvania law firm where the client was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear ended while the vehicle was stopped in traffic in Henrico County Virginia. Client suffered neck, back, and a torn rotator cuff. After suit was filed and discovery was completed regarding the shoulder injury, the case was settled for the defendant’s policy limits.
- Client was on his way home from graveyard work when he suffered a tire blowout causing his vehicle to hit a jersey wall, which left his vehicle disabled in the middle of Interstate 95. Client activated his emergency flashers, proceeded to walk to the side of the road, and then re-entered the highway to see if he could push his vehicle to the shoulder. It was then that he was hit by a motorist and suffered fractures to his right leg and right arm. Multiple area firms declined to accept the case and after an intense investigation into the facts of the collision the insurance tendered the policy limits of the defendant driver.
- Car crash in Chesterfield County where the client was a passenger in a vehicle whose driver lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic and hit head-on into a work van. Client suffered multiple cuts and bruises as well as a fracture to his face. After filing suit and conducting depositions the case settled at mediation for $102,000.00.
- Referred case from Pennsylvania law firm where the client was injured in Prince William County Virginia. Client was driving home from his nightshift job and was heading home to get some sleep before starting his second job. As he was approaching an intersection, the defendant failed to yield the right-of-way pulling directly in front of the client. The responding officer believed the client was road racing. Client suffered multiple fractures to his right leg requiring surgery. After investigating the case, it was discovered that a McDonalds near the intersection picked up the collision. The video showed the client and another vehicle were traveling next to each other, but did not show any evidence of road racing. The case was focus grouped regarding the speed of the client’s vehicle where they believed the client was going 5-10 miles per hour over the speed limit, but did not think that his speed was the cause of the crash. After mediation the case settled for $240,000.00.
- Client suffered multiple injuries after being rear ended by a tractor-trailer in Chesterfield County. Case went to trial where a Chesterfield jury returned a verdict for roughly $192,000.00.
- Woman was attacked by two dogs in the City of Richmond while waiting for the bus to get to work. Originally the claim was denied by the defendant’s homeowner’s insurance company, but after filing suit the insurance company tendered the policy limits of $300,000.00.
- Client was an 82-year-old pedestrian walking across Quioccasin towards Westridge Road in Henrico County, Virginia when he was hit by another vehicle and killed. The crash occurred at 6:50 am in the fall and the lighting in the area was poor. The case settled for $450,000.00.
- Client was a 73-year-old pedestrian walking behind her granddaughter and daughter crossing route 60 in York County Virginia at 6:22 pm in the fall. The insurance company for the defendant driver originally denied the claim and after an investigation into the facts and circumstances of the collision all the available insurance coverage was tendered.
- Clients were family members in a car collision on Interstate 64 in Henrico County. Collision caused their F-150 to flip over causing multiple injuries to include a fractured back, fractured arm, fractured ribs, fractured shoulder, and a fractured neck. Case settled for all the available insurance coverage, which was $603,000.00.
