Gregg Neylan, pictured below, loved the Richmond Public School System, learning and books. When he passed away in March of 2013, his daughter Kathleen looked for a way to celebrate his legacy. In 2014, the “Book Festival in Memory of Gregg Neylan” was born.
Kathleen, a paralegal with Marks & Harrison, organized the event with her mother and family to encourage reading in the community. The first festival, held in late March, was at Patrick Henry Charter School. Families were able to pick up free books and enjoyed story time.
There will be a second book festival on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary School, located at 2409 Webber Avenue in Richmond. Marks & Harrison is excited to attend and support the event.
Spread the word if you know of any families who might be interested!
