Jim focuses his practice exclusively on representation of the injured.
After graduating from the University of Maryland, he wrote for the Washington Star newspaper before receiving his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law. He is currently Secretary of the Firm.
Jim has spent the past 35 years deeply involved in pro-bono legal services in Central Virginia. He is a past President of the Board of Directors of Southside Virginia Legal Services and spent 13 years on the Board. Beginning in 2001, he joined the Board of Directors of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, where he served two terms as President of the Board of Directors. In addition, Jim was a member of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Justice Center from 2009 to 2019. Today he remains a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society. Jim is also a member of the Boyd-Graves Conference and has achieved the highest rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
