Genoveva Border joined Marks & Harrison in November 2012 as Director of Spanish Services. Genoveva started her legal career in Ecuador, where she worked as a Judicial Assistant at the Supreme Court of Justice of Ecuador, as Chief Attorney and General Manager of the General District Court of Quito and as an Assistant Law Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador.
Genoveva teaches Spanish Legal Skills at the University of Richmond School of Law. She is a Board Member of the Virginia Hispanic Foundation and volunteers at its pro bono legal clinics.
After winning a British Chevening Scholarship, Genoveva completed a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law at The University of Nottingham in the UK. Genoveva then went to The College of Law in Birmingham in the UK and qualified as an English attorney. She worked as a Corporate Tax Attorney at Eversheds LLP, one of the largest law firms in the world. Genoveva moved to Richmond in 2011 but is not licensed to practice in Virginia.
